Bollywood Divas of 90s that Never Paired Again for Movies
When we think about the Bollywood movies of 90’s, we can easily remember the action spree of actors like Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan, Sunil Shetty, with the colorful chiffon sarees draped by the heroine(s) and the melodious voice of singers like Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam, who justified the character’s voice in the movies. The Bollywood era of 90’s has many blockbuster hits with exceptional couples who ruled at the box office. The beautiful divas of 90’s era were also paired opposite to their male co-stars which made the audience captivated in the theaters. In this article, we have listed six Bollywood Jodi’s of famous actresses’ who have rocked on-screen in 90’s, but never shared an onscreen space thereafter.
Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor: Released on 11th April 1994, the movie Andaaz Apna Apna is still remembered for its comedy and the heavy star cast which overwhelmingly entertained the audience in theaters. The characters of raveena and karishma were of two affluent young girls who were in love with their heroes (Salmaan and Aamir) and the love story, just like other bollywood flicks, was pruned to face many up’s and downs. The movie was a blockbuster on the box office, but post Andaaz Apna Apna, the two divas never shared a screen space together. As per spotboy A, it was reported that the actors didn’t even conversed with each other on the sets, as they were undergoing a tough turmoil in their relationship with Ajay Devgan.

Kajol and Manisha Koirala: Director Rajiv Rai casted Kajol and Manisha Koirala as main leads for his nail-biting thriller Gupt, in which Kajol (Isha) played a secret lover of his friend Sahil (Bobby Doel) and on the other hand, Sahil was already in love with Sheetal (Manisha Koirala). It was the first movie of Kajol as a negative role for which she was awarded with “FilmFare Best Actor in a Negative Role”. These two bollywood divas entertained the audience at theaters on 15th August, 1997 with their remarkable roles, but were never paired again on-screen even though movie was successful at the box-office. Hope Mr. Rai plans sequel of the movie.

Madhuri Dixit and Karishma Kapoor: Yash Chopra wanted two leading heroines of 90’s to act together for his next love story “Dil To Pagal Hai”. The lead role had Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, but Chopra ji’s hunt for the third actor opposite to Madhuri was not finalized. The role was first offered to Karishma Kapoor but was hesitant to take the project. It was further offered to Manisha Koirala, Raveena Tandon, Kajol, Juhi chawla, and Urmila Matondkar who turned down the offer. Finally, Yash Chopra reproached to kapoor and who took the risk to act opposite madhuri. As a result, the audience couldn’t skip a scene of this Jodi when they stated to rock the dance floor. The movie was a huge success on the box office. The sizzling chemistry of the two dance lovers Pooja and Nisha (on-screen names) were never casted again by any of the directors in bollywood.

Kajol and Juhi Chawla: It was 28th of November, 1997 when Kajol and Juhi chawla were ready to bag another hit in their list. Yes!! The movie was “Ishq” with Amir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla and Kajol in the lead. The movie rocked the box office with great collections, but this was the last time when the two beauties of bollywood were seen together.

Sonali Bendre and Juhi Chawla: The movie “Duplicate” was released on 8th May, 1998 with Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre as lead as lead actors. The movie didn’t create the expected magic on the box office in terms of collections, but the music and soundtrack composed by Anu Malik became popular. The song “mere mehboob mere sanam” was admired by the public and was a hit. The sizzling Jodi of Sonali and Juhi were never seen on-screen after the release of the movie. The Jodi disappeared and was never found on-screen again.

Kajol and Rani Mukerjee: The famous Jodi of Rani Mukherjee as Tina and Kajol as Anjali last appeared in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” which was one of the famous hits of 90s. They both are cousins in real life and several media reports reveal that Rani and Kajol shares cold vibes in their personal life, since ages. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was their last movie after which the actors didn’t share any screen space till date.
